Meet Mike Burket a Paramedic for over 35 years, I have been confronted with about every HUMAN emergency medical situation possible. While in the field I was approached by members of our local POLICE K9 UNIT officers, expressing how they wish their Police Dogs had proper EMERGENCY K9 MEDIC options in the event of a SERIOUS MEDICAL / TRAUMATIC SITUATION.
With that being said, Mike discovered due to lack of funding and budget cuts etc. that CPR and first aid training for these four legged officers and heroes, are rarely provided to their handlers and is in great demand and would be greatly appreciated. Thats when Pet Medics 911 came to life in helping to fill this first aid handlers training demand, at NO CHARGE!
With new laws passed allowing for the treatment and transport of service animals, Mike realized that he can now utilize his skills as a paramedic in helping save the lives of the our heroic K9 officers, service animals and family pets. Through his extensive training, he can now help train Police K9 handlers and any pet owners in life saving CPR and other Emergency first aid life saving techniques.
Fast forward Mike has become a CERTIFIED K9 MEDIC/PARAMEDIC through the Best most INTENSE PET Certification program offered in the United States. With his many years of experience as a Paramedic and in addition now to his certification in PET CPR, FIRST AID and other LIFE SAVING techniques. Through PET MEDICS 911 Mike would like to TEACH OTHERS how to properly respond in the event of a
PET MEDICAL EMERGENCY!
Our goal is to also provide Ambulatory transportation for pet owners to and from Veterinary Hospitals and/or Veterinary facilities and appointments. Many Vet offices have expressed a need for proper medical transportation for their animal population. Also senior pet owners who are unable to take their Pets to the Vet will have an option to safely transport their pets.
We will also make transportation available to first responders as we grow our PET MEDICS team and network.
